Work in progress for one of these beautiful "flamenco" birds, in pink, orange and red.
I'm not sure yet if a background will be added.
Flamingos do swim but not often; they can fly as fast as 35mph but more often wade.
They lay only 1 egg a year and stay with the same mate through their life.
Born grey or white, they form their distinctive colouring, from pigments in their food,
over 2 to 3 years.
Flamingos range in height between 3 and 5 feet, weighing just 8 pounds.
Their legs are 30 - 50 inches long.
A flock is called a "Flamboyance"
There are many theories as to why they stand on one leg, though mostly relates to
regulating their body temperature.
